Body Scrub – Lovely & Gentle

This scrub was created for a special friend and since then it has become my favourite scrub. It is suitable for sensitive, normal, oily and blemish prone skin. 

Handmade using organic fine brown sugar, organic shea butter, fractionated coconut oil with lavender and lemon eucalyptus pure essential oils. 

Sugar exfoliates the skin but does not dry it like salt may. It contains glycolic acids which means it exfoliates on a chemical level as well as by abrasion. Shea Butter restores the skin’s natural elasticity. It has brilliant moisturising capabilities and contains heaps of vitamins, minerals and proteins. It enables your skin to absorb moisture from the air and by keeping it there for a while it makes your skin softer. Shea butter is said to have a natural skin SPF of between 6 and 7.  Coconut Oil is easily absorbed into the skin. Full of antioxidants, vitamins E and K and minerals such as iron. It helps the skin to absorb vitamins and nutrients.   Fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which all the long chain triglycerides are removed, leaving mainly the medium chain triglycerides making it an absolutely saturated oil.  Lavender essential oil is suitable for all skin types especially sensitive skin. Probably the number 1 essential oil that helps skin heal. It helps regenerate skin cells and so is great for mature skin, sun spots and scarring. Relaxing and calming effect on the nervous system. Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil is calming, may help with acne, circulatory health, emphysema, rheumatism and is an insect repellent. Both these oils are the gentlest I could find that may help balance hormones.

Stir the pot first and then simply apply to damp skin in soft circular motions to exfoliate always moving towards your heart. Do not let any water get into the mix. Rinse away with warm water and be careful as surfaces may be slippery.

Use within 12 months.
