Body Polish – Sweet Ruby Red NEW
I first made this scrub 6 months ago, and it is still my favourite body scrub. The scent is summer sweet and I adore this skin loving mix on my skin; such a special treat indeed.
Handmade using so very many skin loving ingredients, starting with magnesium rich Epsom salts, Australian bath salts, smashed Himalayan pink salts, fractionated coconut, apricot kernel, rice bran, cold pressed Australian virgin olive and avocado oils, organic Australian beetroot powder, Australian Bentonite clay, cosmetic seaweed powder, Australian pink clay, organic rosehip oil, vitamin E, and ending with ylang ylang, palmarosa and helichrysum pure essential oils.
Australian and Epsom salts are rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids of the sea. Great for healthy looking skin, healing imperfections and increased circulation. Check if you can use Epsom salts if you are pregnant or have diabetes. Fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which all the long chain triglycerides are removed, leaving mainly the medium chain triglycerides making it an absolutely saturated oil. Apricot kernel oil is a base oil derived from the kernel of the apricot. It has properties like almond oil, though it is a bit lighter in weight, texture, and colour and is odourless. This oil is excellent for softening the skin around the throat. Great for mature skin due to its skin tightening ability and slight astringent quality. Rice bran oil is full of antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins B and E and omega 6 fatty acids. These natural vitamins increase elasticity while maintaining hydration and this helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A light oil which protects the skin from UV rays and smooth skin tone, which penetrates easily. Rice bran also contains squalene which is a natural organic compound that helps with the synthesis of cholesterol and vitamin D in the human body. By doing this rice bran oil helps the skin to regenerate itself, leading to fresher, younger looking skin; it is considered an anti-aging secret in Japan. Olive oil is easily absorbed, gentle, a skin softener and an antioxidant, high in polyphenols which have anti-aging benefits. Avocado oil is rich and conditioning, full of vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E and potassium and is especially helpful for dry dull skin. Leaves a protective barrier to help prevent moisture evaporation. Beetroot powder softens and moisturises skin, and helps keep those wrinkles at bay and may help delay the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Bentonite and pink clays are both have a high content of minerals which are wonderful for skin pampering and may help to improve skin elasticity and cell renewal for supple, younger looking skin. Cosmetic seaweed powder has been shown to contain rich bioactive compounds, omega-3 fatty acids, essential amino acids, and vitamins A, B, C, and E, so is calming with moisturising benefits and may also help with skin toning. Rose hip seed oil is high in essential fatty acids and is used to rejuvenate, soften and heal skin damaged by scars stretch marks and weather. Vitamin E is an antioxidant which helps the immune system and improve circulation to all parts of the body. It allows the skin to breathe and function naturally, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and the formation of scar tissue and can be used to sustain the shelf life of products. Apart form the beautiful scent, the essential oils used in this body scrub are great for general skin care and irritated skin, will help regenerate new skin cells, improve skin elasticity and help balance your mood.
Shake the jar first and then simply apply to damp skin in soft circular motions to exfoliate always moving towards your heart. Do not let any water get into the mix. Rinse away with warm water and be careful as surfaces may be slippery. No need to moisturise after your shower, this scrub is also a time saver and a little goes a long way.
